Kayako CRON + Protection Questions...

First of all I'd like to completely protect my Kayako installation from external access, e.g. protect __swift directory and all other directories containing sensitive data.

There is some usage of __swift/themes/ for static content, is there any chance of adjusting this to force different directory, e.g. /themes/ ?

The reason I ask is I'd like to block entire __swift dir from external access.

About CRON: I noticed on every page load there is special javascript:

I recently had a rough time upgrading a "downloaded" installation of Kayako Fusion 4.64 to 4.70.2 on Windows. Part of the challenge was an Upgrade process that apparently stalled, with no assurance that I wasn't ruining my system by restarting the process. Thinking perhaps my plug-ins were causing issues, I took steps to set aside some of the plugin files and folders, in case these were incompatible (probably not a good idea, and did not help). Undefined index: ticket notes

We went from 4.61 to 4.70.2 a week ago. Since that time, our staff are losing a huge amount of their work day from typing long notes, hitting submit, only to lose all of their work with this error:

Undefined index: ticket notes (./__apps/tickets/staff/class.Controller_Ticket.php:3084)

I've rebuilt cache, staff have cleared cache, the error still randomly occurs for numerous users, multiple browsers, random tickets at random times. There is no consistency to it and no way to intentionally...

Reported this before, has happened the past several updates. This time I downloaded your file to my Mac, extracted, then uploaded.

80 templates out of date, all phrases out of date. Do you guys do any testing on Windows servers??? I'm using Windows 2012 R2.

Hi.

Could you please send screenshots of 4.71. Is it any different UI wise for staff users? Or is it 100% same, but screensize adaptive

I would like to know if there is the functionality, and if so please direct me to where I would find the info on...

When a user goes to the self service page and selects "Submit a ticket", when it goes to where they select the department, it would give them the default ticket form if they select "Dept 1", as it is designed now, but if they select "Dept 2" they get a different form for ticket submission with different custom fields.

Example:
User X selects Dept 1, they get a ticket form with...

After completing all steps for an upgrade and finally getting to the setup step, I get the following error on the setup page:

The website cannot display the page
HTTP 500

Most likely causes:
  • The website is under maintenance.
  • The website has a programming error.

Hello,

We recently upgraded to WHMCS v6 which is a great upgrade and offers a completely responsive layout as well as invoicing and billing system.

However this has broken the WHMCS / Kayako Integration and we see lots of errors.

Strict Standards: Declaration of kyDepartment::createNew() should be compatible with kyObjectBase::createNew() in /home/XXXXX/public_html/clients/modules/support/kayako/API/kyDepartment.php on line 9

Is anyone else seeing this?

I'm trying to setup the email parser on the kayako helpdesk build 4.68.1.

Can someone tell me if this is correct;

Email Queue Add: support@domain.com
Mailbox Type: POP3
Mailserver Hostname: remote.domain.com
Port Number 110 (open on the domain router pointing to the in house exchange 2013 server)
username: useraccount@domain.local
passowrd: network password
SMTP connection type: NON SSL

I keep getting this;

Can you put a little more effort into your release notes other than JIRA generated cases resolved? Maybe some graphics on where things changed, detail on where new settings are, etc? Please explain this new "option" and where to configure it.

I used self-hosted version of Kayako and my situation is following:
- every thing worked fine last week, with about 10 mail queue, no problem, tickets were created and updated with mails sent to those mail queue.
- 3 days ago some staff users reported that emails sent to mail queue were not fetched into kayako and tickets were not updated with reply from those email
- I check the log and see and error as below:
preg_split() [<a href='function.preg-split'>function.preg-split</a>]: No ending...

Hi.

I wonder what you are using to compare kayako-code between versions.
Right now I am using code compare (the free version) https://www.devart.com/codecompare/
and I have been using winmerge before.
But It seems that they sometimes miss codechanges, for example between versions or modified code.

I need tips on a good one that I can "trust".

Setup Single Sign-On IMAP or POP

I would like to to be able to do single sign using IMAP or POP to authenticate against. I don't want to give any more outside machines than our MailServer access to our LDAP. Is there a way to do this? I can't find a way to do it other than writing our own script. Does anyone have a script?

Database went puke

Long story short, our database had to be deleted and there was no backup.
Since I still have all of the files in swift/files is there ANY way to open them?

I tried uploading a file to a ticket and then replacing the attachment (and renaming it) with an OLD file, but that didn't seem to do the trick. I was hoping it might be that easy.

Any ideas?

Unified Search Returning Limited Results

Hi All,
I just upgraded to the latest version with Unified Search (Kayako Fusion 4.40.986). I had a version without unified search so I was looking forward to this upgrade.

The problem is, after the upgrade I am getting limited serach results using the U.S. feature. It only returns a hand full of items in the query (sometimes 3, sometimes 5... just depends on the search terms).

I reset my templates & languages, rebuilt the Cache and cleared browser cache as well. I even went to tickets |...
